»General v. Stein« Day Nursery
Located on a former military site in Freising, Bavaria, this modern family centre has 160 places for children to play, interact and develop as individuals. The nursery, playschool, after-school club and canteen are each housed in different buildings. The architects neuburger, bohnert und müller used a timber frame construction to achieve the Passive House building standard. In order to meet energy efficiency requirements for the entire site, the decision was made to use LED lighting. The rounded shapes of the Flat Polymero and Basic Ball break up the straight lines of the interior decor. In combination with plenty of wood, this creates a harmonic lighting mood whilst at the same time achieving optimum visual conditions.
