This Wilhelminian villa serves as a residential community for dementia sufferers. The objectives of the sheltered housing group run by the Hans and Ilse Breuer Foundation are for residents to participate in social activities and to maintain a feeling of security and trust. The idea is to provide the kind of living conditions, which as far as possible reflect residents' own four walls. With this in mind, it was important to create the right kind of lighting mood. Large fabric lampshades in a friendly yellow colour from the Flat Liner LED range therefore hang from the ceilings of the communal kitchen and provide glare free lighting in which residents can feel safe.
