German Design Award 2020 for Mingata and Sidelite ECO floor luminaire
Out of more than 2,500 entries in the product design category, the international expert jury for the German Design Award 2020 singled out the impressive design quality of the MINGATA range of outdoor luminaires and the SIDELITE floor luminaire.
The German Design Award is the third award won by MINGATA, along with the Red Dot and iF awards. It scored with the jury with its combination of form and function:
thanks to incredibly efficient thermal management, the range of outdoor luminaires suitable for top and side mounting on poles needs no visible cooling ribs, scoring points with a flat and therefore low-maintenance top surface.
The Sidelite ECO floor luminaire, designed for computer workstations, also impressed the jury in the “Excellent Product Design” category. This was their appraisal of the luminaire:“With its clearly defined, minimalist design style, the floor luminaire fits in discreetly with many modern and contemporary living environments, providing standard-compliant lighting. The ergonomically integrated switches also ensure convenient and intuitive operation.”
The German Design Award is presented by the German Design Council, which promotes brand and design development in Germany. Its aim is to discover, introduce and present awards for unique design trends.
The award ceremony will took place in February 2020 during AMBIENTE in Frankfurt.
